Monica is committed to going above and beyond to help her clients and, regardless of the severity of charges, to fight their cases in court.  Monica believes that clients can only make informed decisions when they fully understand the law, the strengths and weaknesses of all the facts relevant to their case, and how the law and their particular set of facts interact.

Monica attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated with the College’s concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution in 2013.  Monica is currently admitted to practice law in Maryland.

While at the University of Tennessee, Monica was one of ten graduates named to the Order of the Barristers. She was also selected to the Hamilton-Burnett Chapter of the American Inns of Court, and earned the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award from the College of Law faculty.  During law school, Monica developed her courtroom knowledge and advocacy skills while working as a student prosecutor with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, and as a student attorney for the Federal Public Defenders of Eastern Tennessee.  Monica also received training in facilitative co-mediation and conducted solo mediation sessions in General Sessions Court through the University of Tennessee’s Mediation Clinic.

In her spare time, Monica also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children.  Through this medium, Monica helped give neglected children in Knox County a voice in court.  Monica has also spent a considerable amount of time volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and coaching youth at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Complex.  Prior to joining The Law Office of Thomas C. Mooney, Monica served as a law clerk to the Judges of the District Court for Prince George’s County.  Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Masters in Business Administration, from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
