DWI & DUI Attorney Overview

In the state of Maryland DWI (Driving While Impaired) is driving while having a blood alcohol level of .07 or greater, but less than .08. DUI (Driving Under the Influence) is driving while having a blood alcohol level of .08 or more.

In addition to the legal consequences that may include jail time and fines (discussed in the Defense section), a Driving while Intoxicated (DWI) / Driving Under the Influence (DUI) conviction will likely involve cancellation of auto insurance, or heavy rate increases.

Also, a Driving while Intoxicated (DWI) / Driving Under the Influence (DUI) conviction is a crime and those convicted are required to report this information when asked by prospective employers.
