Being charged with the murder of another person is a life-altering event. Much as the murder itself has altered the lives of the victim's family forever, the life of the person charged with the crime is also dramatically changed. Even if the individual is found not guilty of the crime, their life and the lives of their family members will never be the same. Recently, two Prince George County men found themselves in this type of situation and have been charged with the murder of another local man. According to Prince George County Police, the charges involved include both first and second degree felony murder charges. The men facing the murder charges are brothers.
Authorities state that the case began when they were recently called to a residence in Upper Marlboro. When they arrived at the residence they found a man outside who was suffering from body trauma. The victim, who was 39-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have charged two brothers in the crime because they have stated that the brothers argued and fought with the victim, who was their friend. One of the brothers is charged with both first and second degree felony murder charges, while the other has been charged only with second degree murder.
Local authorities are still investigating the case and have asked that anyone with information come forward and contact them. However, any Maryland resident who is facing any type of felony charge may want to get more information about planning a criminal defense strategy in order to find out how this type of charge can affect their life.
