A DUI conviction can be life-changing. You could lose your driver's license, be forced to pay heavy fines and even spend time in jail. But for government employees who need security clearance to do their jobs, the consequences may be even more severe.
Between October 31 and December 31 more than 350 people were arrested for drunk driving in Prince George's County and Montgomery County last year. Why? A special initiative led by the Maryland State Police to crack down on drunk driving over the holidays. While no formal initiative has been announced this year, you can - and should - expect increased DUI patrol from now until the New Year.
