Prince George County officials extradited two men from Georgia on charges of attempted murder. Deputies from Maryland's Warrant/Fugitive Division were successfully able to nab the suspects across state lines and have them transferred to Upper Marlboro for prosecution.
According to reports, the two suspects are linked to different events. One suspect allegedly stabbed a man in a car after they got into an argument. The second suspect, meanwhile, is charged with shooting into a vehicle with three female occupants. The cases and the suspects' criminal defense will be managed separately.
While the charges against the two differ, both are charged with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment. Of those charges, attempted murder is undoubtedly the most severe. In many lawmakers' minds, attempted murder should have the same penalties as murder itself. As a result, a physical altercation could lead to years in prison if prosecutors allege intent to kill.
Those charged with such serious offenses need to contact a local Upper Marlboro criminal defense attorney. These experts have decades of experience handling all types of criminal cases, including attempted murder.
Local attorneys can manage the plea negotiation process, extradition concerns or any other component of a criminal case. Their expertise has proven to reduce penalties against the accused and put them in the best possible position to achieve after their criminal ordeal comes to an end. Too often, a proper criminal defense is ignored causing the loss of years to prison or years of probation. Many of these penalties can be avoided if an experienced professional is brought in to help.
