On Aug. 16, Maryland authorities arrested a 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman for alleged drug and firearms crimes. The incident took place in Queen Anne’s County.
According to media reports, members of the Kent County Narcotics Task Force served the male suspect an arrest warrant at the Courtyard Inn Motel on Church Hill Road just after 6 p.m. The warrant was related to multiple firearms crimes that allegedly took place on July 26 in Chestertown. However, when officers entered the room, they also encountered a woman and saw 2.6 grams of suspected cocaine, .80 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 42 capsules of suspected heroin sitting in plain view.
The male defendant has been charged with possession of a handgun, illegal possession of a firearm, disorderly conduct, inhibiting the testimony of a witness and possession of a narcotic with the intent to distribute. The female defendant has been charged with possession of a narcotic with the intent to distribute. Both defendants are being held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center without bail. They are each scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.
