Driver accused of sexual assault in Prince William County

On Behalf of | Jul 10, 2020 | Sexual Assault

If you have been accused of a crime, you know the deep feeling in the pit of your stomach. Trouble with the law can be very jarring and last for years, especially if it involves any sort of felony or violent crime. This is why it is always important to have your say in court or before an authority that matters.

A 27-year-old Waldorf man is being sought by police in Prince William County in connection with an alleged sexual assault in a car summoned by an online reservation service. The man was working for the company as an independent driver when he allegedly exposed himself to a passenger and sexually assaulted her around 5 a.m. on a recent Thursday.

The woman who reported the incident left the car before reaching her destination. The company reported that it is working to make it easier for passengers to avoid these issues and to educate drivers on proper behavior.

The driver in question, however, had no previous incidents that appeared on a company background check and had never been reported by a passenger for misconduct. An investigation is continuing as police seek the driver for questioning.

An attorney can always help if a person has been accused of sexual assault. These charges always require a full defense and may have a better outcome if a lawyer has a chance to review the evidence and work with prosecutors or judges to work out reduced or dismissed charges. Legal representation is always an American’s right and usually a good idea when faced with criminal charges.
